NBA 2K23 ratings are finally here. The ranking of the players has changed, some have improved, some have lowered, and some have been rated absurdly. This article takes you through some players who are rated too low in NBA 2K23:

NBA 2K23 Ratings

1. Kevin Durant — 96 Overall

Kevin Durant has already complained about not being a 99 overall in the game.

2. Jimmy Butler — 93 Overall

At a 93 overall, Jimmy Butler might not be high enough to represent what he means to the Miami Heat and their success.

3. Rudy Gobert — 88 Overall

Rudy Gobert’s NBA 2K23 rating of 88 is already too low. He is one of the impactful defensive players, evident by his three Defensive Player of the Year awards and numerous All-Defensive First-Team nominations.

4. Zion Williamson — 87 Overall

If Zion Williamson stays healthy, he will be in the 90s before the All-Star break.

5. Dejounte Murray — 86 Overall

Dejounte Murray has been hampered by injuries early in his career, but the dynamic playmaker was clearly the best player on the court this past season for the Spurs and is quickly become one of the elite point guards in the NBA. He currently sits at an impressive overall of 86, but too low.

6. Brandon Ingram — 85 Overall

Brandon Ingram was so good for the Pelicans in the playoffs last year. Put some respect on that man’s name.

7. Tyrese Maxey — 85 Overall

On top of averaging seventeen points, four assists, and three rebounds in the regular season, he improved his postseason scoring to almost twenty-one points per game. Tyrese Maxey could become the 76ers’ second-best player in the coming seasons. Please respect him!

8. Andrew Wiggins — 84 Overall

The Golden State Warriors are once again NBA champions, and Andrew Wiggins played a big part in their postseason run. He may not have been as offensively spectacular as Steph Curry, but Wiggins’ defense made a significant difference in addition to his consistent offensive contributions. NBA 2K23 should give him a higher rating than his current one of 84.

9. Draymond Green — 83 Overall

Draymond Green, a four-time champion and sure-fire Hall of Fame inductee. His one of the very best role players of this generation, and he’s rated four points lower than C.J. McCollum.

10. Klay Thompson — 83 Overall

Klay Thompson is airing his own 2K rating grievances on social media. He was one of the best 3-point shooters of the 90s.

11. Anthony Edwards — 83 Overall

Anthony Edwards has all the makings of an all-time great video game character. No guard in the league is faster or more powerful going to the basket, and he’s also an excellent outside shooter. Why did 2K rate him lower than Christian Wood and R.J. Barrett?

12. Fred VanVleet — 83 Overall

Fred VanVleet made the All-Star team for the first time in his career last year and should be primed for another huge season in Toronto. Something tells me this rating will be several points higher by the end of the year.

13. Jalen Brunson — 83

In the playoffs, Jalen Brunson averaged twenty-one points per game, almost four assists, and four rebounds as a six-foot-point guard. That certainly sounds like someone who earned an overall higher than 83.

14. Marcus Smart — 82 Overall

Marcus Smart’s coming off of a season in which he took home the Defensive Player of the Year award and was a key cog in the machine that took the Celtics to the NBA Finals. His overall closer to 84 or 85 in NBA 2K23 seems most appropriate for his accomplishments.

15. OG Anunoby — 81 Overall

OG Anunoby made big strides last year and continues becoming more comfortable as a creator. He’s better than this.

16. Anfernee Simons — 80 Overall

Anfernee Simons improved his points per game this last season by almost ten points, and despite his three-point attempts a game doubling, he still kept a shooting average above forty percent from range. His NBA 2K23 overall that’s at least a bit higher than 81.

17. Franz Wagner — 80 Overall

Franz Wagner will make this rating look silly by the end of the year. After an impressive rookie season and a killer run in EuroBasket, the big German wing is poised for a second-year breakout with the Magic.

18. Dorian Finney-Smith — 78 Overall

Dorian Finney-Smith might have been the Mavericks’ second-best player on their run to the conference finals last year and should be an 80 overall, at least. There aren’t much better pure ‘3-and-D’ wings in the game.

19. Alex Caruso — 78 Overall

Alex Caruso is a one-man defensive wrecking crew. The Bulls ascended once they signed him, and the Lakers fell to pieces once he left. His impact is much greater than this rating.

20. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope — 76 Overall

2K has Kentavious Caldwell-Pope rated as the ninth-best player on the Nuggets. He was already a huge part of a title team in Los Angeles, and he will likely be on the floor at the end of games for a Nuggets team with similar dreams.

21. Kenrich Williams — 76 Overall

Would I be a basketball blogger if I didn’t go to bat for the awesomeness of Kenrich Williams? There is no world where he is a worse player than Darius Bazley right now, but that’s how 2K has him ranked.

22. Joe Harris — 76 Overall

It feels like Joe Harris was dinged a few points because of his ankle injuries, but if anything, his absence last season showed how valuable he is to the Nets. Without his marksman shooting and sturdy defense, Brooklyn completely collapsed.
