Scottie Barnes — 85
Scottie Barnes is an extraordinary talent and one who’s been recognized across the league. He averaged 15.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in 74 games in 2021–22. He won the Rookie of the Year award. With such a unique blend of size, athleticism, and basketball IQ, it would be hard for NBA 2K23 not to reward the young Florida State product with a high rating. Evan Mobley — 84
Evan Mobley is coming off a strong rookie showing that he nearly saw him take home the Rookie of the Year award. He averaged 15.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 69 games in 2021–22. He should have one of the better PF ratings in NBA 2K23 at launch purely based on potential.
Cade Cunningham — 83
Cade Cunningham averaged 17.4 points, 5.6 assists, and 5.5 rebounds in 64 games in 2021–22. He was arguably the best rookie statistically, all while carrying a bigger load than others in his rookie class.
Josh Giddey — 82
Josh Giddey averaged 12.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 6.4 assists in 54 games in 2021–22. He finished with All-Rookie Second Team honors, which could have easily been First Team if not for an early finish to his season via injury.
Paolo Banchero — 81
The number one pick Paolo Banchero in the draft has stolen the show as the top-rated rookie in NBA 2K23, making him the first Duke player since Zion Williamson in 2019 to obtain the honor. He is a 6'10" point forward whose playmaking and scoring ability will transition right away to the pro level.
Jabari Smith — 79
Jabari Smith rounds out the big three of the 2022 Draft with a smooth jump shot. Not only is he one of the best jump shooters for his size (6'10", 220-pounds), but he’s also incredibly competitive and an elite scorer by every definition. Most importantly, he’s a switchable defender who can guard any position one through five.
Jaden Ivey — 78
The Purdue product Jaden Ivey is another fascinating young player with blazing speed and the ability to put pressure on the rim, making him a devastating force in transition. At launch, he’ll carry one of the best rookie ratings in NBA 2K23.
Chet Holmgren — 77
Chet Holmgren has everything you could want in an NBA 2K big man; he’s long, aggressive, protects the rim, and can shoot the lights out from long range. In all honesty, there’s a good chance he finishes with the best rookie rating in the NBA 2K23.
